The resort
is situated at a height of 7000ft. Each cottage
has an attached balcony which offers a panoramic view of
the thick deodar forests on one side and the high snow
clad peaks on the other. These sylvan surroundings offer
an atmosphere of peace and tranquality.
Dev Cottages are accessible via
road all year round. The cottages are located 1.5 km from Mcleodganj town,
the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The town has a rich
heritage of Hindu and Tibetan culture which attracts scholars and
tourists from all over the world. In addition to this , the town
also has a number of restaurants that provide different cuisines
such as Indian, Chinese, Tibetan and Western.
For the more adventurous and
energetic there are a number of activities that can be organised:
Trekking to the snow clad
peaks of the Triund Glacier, which is approximately 7 Kms
from the resort.
Dal Lake is mere 3 Kms
away and is accessible by road and also through a forest
track.
Picnic on river bank at
Khaniyara - 10 Kms
Bhagsu water falls - 3 Kms
Excursions to the Tea
Gardens of Palampur, the famous Shiva Temple of Baijnath,
the pilgrimage center of Chamunda Devi, the Kangra Devi
Temple, the Jwalaji Temple and the famous Kangra,
Sujanpur and Nurpur Forts.
The well known Tushita
Meditation and yoga centre is just next door.
